sandoll (CEO Youngho Yun), a leading creator content platform company, announced that it hosted the “Sandoll Inspire Tour” office program on October 2 in celebration of Hangul Day, inviting students from the New Media Design Department of Mirim Meister High School, Korea’s first IT-focused vocational high school.
The Sandoll Inspire Tour is Sandoll’s office tour program, designed not simply as a company visit but as an educational social contribution activity that allows students to directly experience Sandoll’s expertise in typography and its history.
During the tour, students explored Sandoll’s in-house exhibition space, where they learned about the history of printing from the metal type era to the present digital environment in which fonts are developed. They also participated in a “Font Guessing Quiz” with Sandoll designers, encouraging interactive discussion.
In the “Impression of Fonts” discussion session, students experienced how the mood and emotions of the same sentence can change depending on the font style, while gaining insight into the creative processes and challenges faced by professional type designers.
Unlike conventional company tours, the program was structured around practical sessions with professional designers, giving students about to enter the industry real-world experience and inspiration. This reflects Sandoll’s differentiated philosophy of social contribution — “not just one-time sponsorships, but providing hands-on education and training to nurture the next generation of creators with practical expertise.”
Lee Min-ji, a second-year student of the New Media Design Department at Mirim Meister High School, shared, “I used to think of fonts simply as ‘pretty,’ but through this program, I realized that the same sentence can feel completely different depending on the font. It was an eye-opening experience that will help me appreciate the power of typography more deeply in my future design work.”
A Sandoll representative stated, “Sandoll is committed to providing creators and students with meaningful experiences and professional expertise through differentiated social contribution activities. We will continue to run the Sandoll Inspire Tour and expand our expertise-based social initiatives to foster the next generation of creators and drive the growth of the creative ecosystem.”
Meanwhile, Sandoll has been carrying out a variety of social contribution programs beyond the Inspire Tour. Since 2016, it has run the “Font Safe School” campaign, providing Sandoll Cloud fonts free of charge to all elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide, helping resolve copyright issues in educational settings. In 2024, Sandoll launched the “Campus Campaign,” offering fonts and creative resources to university students across Korea, with over 90% of students nationwide applying each semester, making it an essential service for college life. Sandoll also supports startups by providing free access to its fonts for use in advertising, publishing, and design, generating annual cost savings worth millions of won, thereby broadening the scope of its social contribution activities.
