Sandoll (CEO Youngho Yun), a leading content creator platform company, announced on the 26th that it has rebranded its mobile font platform ‘SandollCloud’ to ‘Bakey,’ officially launching its global expansion with Thailand and other Asian markets at the forefront, while strengthening the entertainment font user experience.
This rebranding is both a response to the rapid growth of entertainment font usage in mobile environments and a strategic step toward global expansion. In fact, the SandollCloud mobile app recorded an average annual revenue growth of nearly three times between 2021 and last year, creating a new market for entertainment fonts and achieving rapid growth.
The new service name ‘Bakey’ is inspired by the idea of a “bakery full of desserts.” Just as desserts bring joy with their variety of flavors, Bakey aims to deliver visual satisfaction through a wide range of entertainment fonts. The name was also chosen for its simplicity and friendliness, making it accessible to global users.
To support international expansion, Bakey offers services in both English and Thai, ensuring overseas users can enjoy a seamless experience. With Thailand and other Asian markets showing high interest in entertainment fonts and strong messaging app-driven communication cultures, the company plans to gradually expand its product lineup and accelerate its global outreach.
Bakey allows users to continue using entertainment fonts previously purchased on the SandollCloud mobile app and features a font recommendation system tailored to individual preferences. This enables users to apply fonts to various mobile environments such as KakaoTalk chats, notes and memos, as well as video editing apps for subtitles and titles.
UX and UI have also been refreshed. The home screen now highlights new and popular collections in an intuitive way, and the menu structure has been redesigned to allow users to explore fonts easily according to their tastes, improving usability.
To commemorate the rebranding, various events will be held. New users can participate in the “First Purchase 500 KRW Event,” which allows them to buy one font of their choice out of 10 for just 500 KRW. In addition, users who leave answers to two questions posted on the official SandollCloud blog will receive a KakaoTalk emoticon set (“New Employee Ppyakgu”) on a first-come, first-served basis for 300 participants. These events will run until October 14.
A Sandoll spokesperson said, “With this rebranding, we will accelerate our global expansion, starting with Thailand and other Asian markets. By focusing on regions where interest and demand for entertainment fonts are high, we aim to develop Bakey into a platform that can be conveniently used anywhere in the world.”
