Sandoll Inc. (CEO Youngho Yun), a content creator platform company, announced on the 27th the results of its analysis of usage records from its font platform, Sandoll Cloud, over the past year.
An analysis of font usage data from Sandoll Cloud for 2024 and 2025 (January–December) shows that total font activations increased by 44% year-on-year. The company attributes this growth primarily to the combined effects of expanding K-content consumption and production, along with the rapid spread of AI-based content creation tools, which have significantly broadened the base of font usage.
This trend indicates that barriers to content creation are continuing to fall, and that fonts are becoming an essential production tool not only for professional designers but also for general creators.
A breakdown by product type in 2025 shows that individual plans increased year-on-year, accounting for 77% of total product usage. This reflects rapid expansion in the individual customer base.
Among individual plans, the “Life” plan—offering a broader font lineup and higher practical usability—recorded growing user numbers and accounted for more than 50% of total usage. Sandoll explained that this trend demonstrates how, driven by the spread of AI-based creation tools, a platform once used primarily by professionals is evolving into a mass-market content creation platform that includes individual creators.
As personal content creation across platforms such as YouTube, webtoons, and short-form video becomes increasingly commonplace, font consumption is also clearly shifting from a corporate and professional focus toward individual creators.
Looking at monthly font usage in 2025, October recorded the highest usage, followed by November and August.
October marked the introduction of Sandoll Cloud’s AI Studio, an image-generation program, after which both user numbers and font activations continued to increase into November.
According to the company, the introduction of AI-based creation environments simplified the process of selecting and using fonts, enabling non-professional users to participate more easily in content creation and driving increased usage.
In addition, the rising popularity of K-Pop Demon Hunters led to an increase in related content production, which also contributed to higher font usage in October.
The top 10 most-activated fonts on Sandoll Cloud in 2025 were:
▲ NanumSquare ▲ Gmarket Sans ▲ Sandoll Swagger ▲ NanumGothic ▲ Sandoll T-Biscuit ▲ NanumSquareRound ▲ Sandoll Samlip Hopang ▲ Sandoll Misaeng ▲ Sandoll National Tteokbokki ▲ Sandoll Maepse.
The top rankings featured a balanced mix of free fonts such as the Nanum series and Gmarket Sans, alongside character-driven, content-friendly fonts, indicating that fonts with high practical usability in real production environments were most widely adopted.
A Sandoll Cloud representative said, “Last year’s usage data clearly shows that amid the expansion of K-content and AI-based creation environments, Sandoll Cloud is evolving beyond a professional-centric platform into a mass-market content creation platform,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our role as a platform supporting the broader K-content and creator ecosystem through data-driven analysis and AI technology.”
