Content creator platform company Sandoll Inc. (CEO: Youngho Yun) announced on the 22nd that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korean Committee for UNICEF (Chairperson: Gab-Young Jung) to develop fonts based on award-winning entries from a children's handwriting contest.

The signing ceremony took place on July 21 at the UNICEF Korea headquarters in Mapo-gu, Seoul, and was attended by key representatives including Youngho Yun, CEO of Sandoll, and Mijin Cho, Secretary-General of the Korean Committee for UNICEF.

This partnership is part of a broader social contribution project aimed at respecting childrenโ€™s creativity and rights, and promoting those values through digital technology and content. Sandoll will create fonts based on three winning entries from the UNICEF Childrenโ€™s Handwriting Contest: one grand prize (overall winner) and one top prize each from the preschool and elementary categories.

The selected handwriting entries will be transformed using Sandollโ€™s advanced font development technology into typefaces that preserve the individuality and emotional nuance of childrenโ€™s writing, while also ensuring high technical quality and versatility across digital environments.

The final fonts will be unveiled on November 20, in celebration of World Childrenโ€™s Day, and will be broadly applied across various official UNICEF Korea materials, including:

  • Publications related to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)
  • Global online fundraising campaigns
  • Content for UN-designated international observances

The font will serve as a key visual medium for conveying messages of childrenโ€™s rights, equality, and participation. It will be distributed free of charge to the public, exclusively through UNICEF Korea and SandollCloud.

Mijin Cho, Secretary-General of UNICEF Korea, expressed her appreciation:
โ€œWe are grateful to Sandoll for supporting the creation of the โ€˜UNICEF Childrenโ€™s Fontโ€™ through their generous donation of talent and technical expertise. We hope that many people will take interest in this font, which captures the pure spirit of children.โ€

Youngho Yun, CEO of Sandoll, commented:
โ€œChildrenโ€™s handwriting carries emotions and imagination that are difficult to express in adult language. This collaboration with UNICEF is a meaningful opportunity to show that Sandollโ€™s technology can go beyond industry applications and serve as a vehicle for social value and important messages.โ€

Sandoll has long embraced its corporate philosophy of realizing social value, establishing the Sandoll Cultural Foundation and consistently supporting NGO activities. This project is a continuation of those efforts. The company is also dedicated to advancing technologies in related fields such as AI-based font search services and AI-generated imagery, as it strives to become a company that unites technological innovation with social responsibility.
