Sandoll Inc. (CEO Yoon Young-ho), a content creator platform company, announced on the 17th that ‘LG EI Headline (LG Emotional Intelligence Headline),’ developed in collaboration with LG Electronics Design Management Center (Design Identity Management), won the Communication category at the ‘iF Design Award 2025.’

The iF Design Award, established in 1953, is one of the world’s most prestigious design awards, along with the IDEA in the United States and the Red Dot Design Award in Germany.

This year’s awards included entries in 82 categories across nine fields, with more than 11,000 submissions from 66 countries evaluated by 131 judges under rigorous criteria.

‘LG EI Headline’ won in the Communication category. The font is a global font that supports multiple languages, including Latin, Latin Extended, Greek, and Vietnamese. It was developed over approximately 10 months, from January to October 2023, through a collaborative effort between Sandoll and LG Electronics’ Brand Management and Design Identity Management departments.

Sandoll has established itself as a leader in the industry through successful collaborations with numerous global companies, producing multilingual fonts covering Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, and more.

This award is particularly significant as it reflects global recognition of Sandoll’s expertise in multilingual font development and its ability to integrate branding strategies.

‘LG EI Headline’ was highly rated for its precise kerning adjustments and balanced character spacing, which enhance readability even in complex writing systems. Its deep understanding of multilingual typography and complex writing systems allowed it to deliver a consistent brand identity and natural user experience across different languages.

Additionally, the font features Variable Font technology, enabling natural rendering in complex character environments. This ensures balanced readability and clarity across both screen and print media, maintaining a consistent brand image and improving the user experience in various digital and print environments.

Currently, ‘LG EI Headline’ is applied to LG’s global digital and print communications, advertisements, and websites. It is expected to play a key role in strengthening LG’s brand identity moving forward.

A Sandoll spokesperson said, “This award is the result of our efforts to provide a consistent brand experience to global users,” adding, “We will continue to develop fonts that effectively convey corporate identities across diverse language environments.”

Meanwhile, in addition to ‘LG EI Headline,’ Sandoll also secured the top prize in the Brand & Communication Design category at the 2023 Red Dot Design Award for its global font project ‘November,’ developed in collaboration with the Dutch type foundry Typotheque. This demonstrates Sandoll’s strong global competitiveness in font development.
