Sandoll Inc. (CEO Young ho Yun), an AI content platform company, announced that font usage is increasing alongside the growing adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI) for content creation, as creators seek to enhance the quality and distinctiveness of their content.
According to Sandoll’s analysis of user data from its font platform, SandollCloud, both user engagement and font usage have increased since Sandoll Canvas, its AI-powered content creation service, was introduced to the platform in March 2026.
In March 2026, SandollCloud’s monthly active users (MAU) increased 34% year over year. Daily active users (DAU) on SandollCloud Canvas pages also grew 6.2-fold in August compared with March.
The number of fonts actively used for content creation also increased. As of August 2026, the number of fonts with an activation rate of 90% or higher had risen 61% since March, when Sandoll Canvas was introduced. On SandollCloud, font activation refers to users enabling a font for use in actual content creation.
As generative AI technology advances and becomes more widely adopted, the volume and variety of content being created are expanding rapidly. Beyond images and videos, content formats such as short-form videos, thumbnails, and social media posts are becoming increasingly diverse. As a result, fonts are being used across a wider range of applications to effectively communicate titles, captions, and messages while enhancing the individuality and overall quality of content.
The increase was particularly notable among fonts with distinctive visual characteristics. In August 2026, activations of handwriting fonts increased 100% compared with March, while display font activations rose 133%.
Handwriting fonts replicate the characteristics of handwritten text, adding personality and emotional expression to content, and are often used in social media posts and captions for short-form videos. Display fonts, characterized by distinctive visual features such as weight, width, and letterform structure, are well suited for thumbnail titles, short-form video captions, posters, and other content designed to capture viewers’ attention quickly.
Sandoll is also expanding the scope of SandollCloud services in response to growing demand for AI-powered content creation. Since its launch on SandollCloud in March, the AI image editing service Sandoll Canvas has expanded beyond image editing to offer a range of AI-powered image generation and editing features, including AI emoji creation and similar-image generation. Sandoll plans to continue expanding these capabilities so users can create a wider variety of content more easily and efficiently.
“As generative AI drives greater content creation and a wider variety of content formats, fonts are becoming increasingly important in enhancing both the quality and distinctiveness of content,” a Sandoll spokesperson said. “Sandoll will continue to strengthen its font and AI services to provide solutions that meet the needs of the evolving content creation environment.”
