AI content platform company Sandoll (CEO Young-ho Yun) announced that it has successfully applied its proprietary AI technology to the production of Korean fonts, significantly improving production efficiency.

Sandoll has developed its own AI based on extensive Korean font production data accumulated over many years and is applying the technology to both mobile and retail font production. Fonts created using the AI have already been commercially released, demonstrating the practical adoption of the company's proprietary AI technology in real-world production. The AI-powered production process has reduced production time by approximately 60%, contributing to greater efficiency across the font production workflow.

Following the launch of its first AI-assisted mobile font, "Iam Today is Knitting Day," Sandoll recently introduced "SD Morning Routine," a retail PC font created using AI. By expanding AI applications from mobile fonts to retail fonts, the company continues to validate the practical potential of AI-powered font production in commercial environments.

These achievements are the result of training Sandoll's proprietary AI on decades of accumulated Korean font production data and expertise. Korean font production has long been regarded as one of the most challenging areas for AI because it requires maintaining visual consistency across thousands of glyphs while accurately handling the complex combinations of initial consonants, medial vowels, and final consonants that make up Hangul.

Sandoll has trained its proprietary AI to understand the structural characteristics and design principles unique to Hangul and has incorporated AI-driven glyph generation into its production workflow. This technology streamlines repetitive production tasks and improves overall production efficiency.

Where designers previously carried out most glyph production manually, AI now generates the glyphs while designers review, refine, and enhance the results to achieve the desired level of design quality.

By integrating AI into its font production process, Sandoll is validating a new approach to font creation. Going forward, the company plans to further advance its AI technology and expand its application beyond Korean fonts to multilingual fonts requiring the production of large numbers of glyphs, including Chinese, thereby improving production efficiency and accelerating its expansion into global markets.

A Sandoll representative said, "Korean font production has traditionally been considered one of the most difficult fields for AI because maintaining visual consistency across thousands of characters requires years of accumulated production experience, data, and font design expertise. By applying our proprietary AI to actual production workflows, Sandoll will continue advancing both Korean font technology and AI while further enhancing our technology to improve production efficiency."
