AI content platform company Sandoll Co., Ltd. (CEO Young ho Yun) announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Gemstone E&M, a company specializing in content and IP business (Chief Executive Officer Jason Lee (Lee Jin-seok)), to jointly develop fonts utilizing K-content and artist intellectual property (IP) and to collaborate on content and brand businesses.

The signing ceremony was held on August 4 at Sandoll's headquarters in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Attendees included Sandoll CEO Yoon Young-ho and Vice President Song Jeong-eun, as well as Gemstone E&M Chief Executive Officer Jason Lee (Lee Jin-seok), Chief Content Officer Kim Tae-woo, and other key executives from both companies.

Kim Tae-woo, a member of the legendary K-pop group god, also attended the ceremony in his capacity as Content Director at Gemstone E&M. During the event, he joined discussions on the future direction of developing fonts based on artists' handwriting and expanding K-content IP-driven content and brand businesses, adding further significance to the partnership.

Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop fonts utilizing a wide range of K-content IP, including K-pop artists' handwriting, artwork from actors and celebrities, webtoons, animated characters, and entertainment content. Based on these fonts, the companies will also collaborate on various content and brand initiatives.

The partnership will further expand into multiple business areas, including the development and commercialization of artist fonts, exclusive fonts for fan clubs and concerts, fandom-related content, brand collaborations, and the establishment of a global font platform and creator marketplace. The companies plan to advance these K-content IP-based businesses in stages.

By combining Sandoll's font technology with Gemstone E&M's expertise in K-content IP planning, the two companies aim to maximize the value of K-content and artist IP while creating a new business model that connects fonts with content and brands. Through this collaboration, they also plan to expand K-content-based font businesses targeting the global market.

"K-content's global expansion and the rapid growth of the fandom market present new opportunities for IP businesses centered around fonts," said Young ho Yun, CEO of Sandoll. "Through our collaboration with Gemstone E&M, we will create new value for K-content and artist IP while continuously expanding globally competitive font and content businesses."

Jason Lee (Lee Jin-seok), Chief Executive Officer of Gemstone E&M, commented, "Gemstone E&M has already been building the structure and capabilities of fandom business and platforms by expanding across IP, live performances, and related businesses. In this context, the artist font project that has been discussed with Sandoll for a long time will become Korea's first project to fully connect fonts with artist and content IP as well as fandom business, extending across both our business ecosystem and product portfolio. We also look forward to unveiling a font based on a legendary IP early next year."
