Content creator platform company Sandoll Corporation (CEO Young-ho Yun) announced on the 28th that, according to the results of the "Sandoll's Can(캔)vas Campaign Season 2" conducted on its font platform, SandollCloud, font usage preferences were higher among college upperclassmen.

Sandoll's Can(캔)vas Campaign Season 2, which offered free fonts, templates, and college life tips to college students, was conducted from February to the end of June. Approximately 72% of universities nationwide participated in this season.

When examining the participation rate by year, the highest participation rate was among 4th-year university students (30%). This was followed by 3rd-year students (28%), 2nd-year students (24%), 1st-year students (17%), and students beyond the 4th year (1%).

This result indicates that as students progress through higher grades, the need for font usage increases due to activities such as external engagements, job preparation, and graduation preparations.

Looking at the application status by department, it was found that 39% of students majoring in design-related fields applied, while 61% of students from non-design-related fields applied. When examining the selection ratio (activation rate) by font usage purpose, the average usage ratio was evenly distributed: 30% for report purposes, 29% for PPT purposes, 25% for event purposes, and 24% for video purposes. This indicates that college students, regardless of their majors, use fonts for various purposes such as reports, competitions, presentations, etc.

The most preferred fonts varied depending on the usage. For PPT purposes, the font "Sandoll Gyeokdong Gothic 2," known for its strong individuality in titles, was popular, while for reports, the "Sandoll Gothic·MyungjoNeo" series, known for its high readability, was widely used. Handwritten fonts, such as "Sandoll Gongbyeonggaek Pen," which gives a friendly impression, were mainly used for video production. For event purposes, the retro-style font "Sandoll Gyeokdong Myungjo" was commonly used.

The "Sandoll's Canvas Campaign" was established to improve awareness so that college students can use fonts without worrying about copyright lawsuits when needed. With each season, the number of participants has increased, with Season 2 seeing a 90% increase compared to Season 1. This indicates a growing need for fonts as the scope of font usage expands.

Through this campaign, participants who experienced font usage showed satisfaction with the results, leading to an increase in font purchases. Compared to Season 1, the font purchase conversion rate among campaign participants increased by approximately 110% in Season 2. This trend suggests that fonts are becoming an essential element in college life as the quality of work produced with fonts improves.

Furthermore, SandollCloud will launch a new season of the Canvas Campaign starting from the 28th. Participation in the campaign is open to all college students. Until December, college students can download font coupons after verifying their student status on the "Canvas Campaign" page of the Sandoll's Cloud website. Coupons can be used until February 29, 2024.

A Sandoll representative stated, "The Canvas Campaign has established itself as a campaign enjoyed by students from three out of four universities in just one year since its opening." They added, "Recognizing the necessity of fonts in college life, SandollCloud will continue to engage in various activities to allow more college students to use fonts without worrying about copyright issues."
