Malgun Gothic

"Malgun Gothic" was the first Korean font to apply manual hinting, and was used as the default Korean font starting with Windows Vista in 2006.

At the time, it was designed based on "Segoe UI", which was the default font for the English version of Windows. Alleviating dissatisfaction with the long-used Gulim and Batang fonts on Windows, Malgun Gothic established itself as the default UI font. In the font industry, it is one of the most widely and heavily used fonts.

It is the font that replaced the long-used Gulim font as the default UI font for Windows.
